Dua is an act of worship, and an important means of beseeching Allaah for one's needs. While dua is a means of having one's needs fulfilled, it also increases one's own record of good deeds. Furthermore, Allah made dua so potent that it can even alter the divine decree. However, its a pity that many people do not know the etiquettes of making dua, nor are they aware of the comprehensive duas found in the Quran and the Hadeeth, due to which they make dua in their own words for a few minutes and thereafter stay silent. And even if they have memorized some duas, they do not understand their meanings & interpretations; and they are not able to fully benefit from the valuable opportunities during which duas are answered such as during their travel for Hajj and Umrah, the last ten nights of Ramadhaan, the last third part of every night and so on. May Allaah accept this effort from the compiler and the publisher as an act of worship done seeking His pleasure alone.
